The National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration predicts 12 to 16 named storms, including six to nine hurricanes and two to five major hurricanes of a category three or higher.
What will this season bring? Negative? Positive? Category 1? Category 2? Category 5? We grapple with the idea: Maybe this time I’m out of luck—like awaiting the results of a pregnancy test after one careless night.
Only time will tell if any hurricanes surface between June 1 and November 30, but while everyone else is stocking up on water, batteries and a generator, Metromix is gathering cocktails to protect us from ourselves while we wait for hurricane season to pass.
