Iron and Wine
IRON AND WINE
Bearded folk rocker Sam Beam, better know as Iron and Wine, will bring his special brand of experimental acoustic ramblings and hauntingly poetic lyrics that reference such images as "a pocketful of foreign change" and "a post card hidden in her winter clothes." Beam, who attended
Florida State University's film school and worked as a professor of film and cinematography at
Miami International University of Art and Design, released his third album,
The Shepherd's Dog, this past September. With a name taken from a dietary supplement, Iron and Wine is an antidote to the typical mainstream shows that have been hitting South Florida lately. Iron and Wine will perform with Califone, a post-rock band from Chicago. While Beam is critically noted for ethereal ballads such as "Lovesong of the Buzzard" and the quick finger-picking of "House by the Sea," he is able to spark an intimate connection with an arena-size crowd.

But you can think of it as a live trailer for her VH1 reality series The Cho Show, which is set to debut this summer. Opening for Cho will be comedian Liam Sullivan, whose YouTube video “Shoes,” in which he plays blond alter ego Kelly, has scored more than 14 million views.
