These emerging painters, sculptors and illustrators are making South Florida a more-colorful place

Since Art Basel descended upon Miami Beach in 2002, we have learned that: A) Basel rhymes with nozzle, and not hazel or dazzle; and B) any hotel, club, empty building, wall, car or street corner can be transformed into an art gallery. Having so many venues helps local artists to grow and forge their own styles, which they employ to create works such as brightly colored, scissor-driven scrap piles; an array of faces that evolved from "nervous behavior"; and portraits of miscreant orphans. Here are six hard-working South Florida artists we're likely to hear more about in the future.
