Terribly Odd
Terribly Odd is a miserable artist who creates miserable work. At least, that's what he notes on his Web site, Terriblyodd.com. If it's true, his misery attracts company. Odd currently has work on view at PinkGhost, Bear and Bird and Überbot, a Winter Park store dealing in art, urban vinyl toys and comic books.
This year, Odd, who divides his time between Miami and Orlando, began selling enough of his art and apparel to give up his day job designing bird-seed bags. "When they need a project done, they will give me a call, and it's always good to have a couple of extra bucks," he says. "So I do that here and there. But for the most part, what's sustaining me is the artwork and the shop that I have inside Überbot."
The small section of Überbot known as The Odd Shop features the artist's apparel and random objects. "Every so often, I'll find something and paint on it, or do something with it and just bring it into the shop," he says. "Even with clothing, I'll just screen-print on a shirt and take one or two of them in there."
