Ross Ford
It's been three years since Ford took his faces from notebooks to large canvases. Last August, 20 of his paintings were featured in a show at Butter Gallery in Coconut Grove. During Art Basel, Butter exhibited four of Ford's faces paintings and several ink drawings at Van Dyke Café, which then purchased several of his works for permanent display. In April, Ford had a solo show at Buck15 in Miami Beach. This month, he participated in the "Loaded Deck" show at Alternative Space Art Gallery (Altspacemiami.com) in Coconut Grove and is gearing up for two more group shows there.
By day, Ford works in marketing. More specifically, he says, "I name shit." Oddly, he doesn't name his paintings, but with or without names, they're fascinating. Click through his gallery at Rossfordart.com.
