Big questions: Will this low-budget indie comedy attract fans of “Napoleon Dynamite”-style outsiders, or is it a movie just revolving around a group of idiots for us to laugh at? Or both?
Skip it: This is the kind of comedy where a young, strong guy beats up an old woman and a teacher hits on a female student and she still stays in his class. It’s like an entire movie of deleted scenes on a DVD you got for free at the grocery store.
Catch it: To learn from Suzie that you won’t win any friends at work if you make a list of who’s most likely to go on a killing spree. Awkward.
Bottom line: Very little happens in “The Foot Fist Way,” but what does is so mean-spirited and unfunny that you won’t exactly wish for more. McBride (“Drillbit Taylor,” “Hot Rod”) makes a funny sidekick even when he’s sleazy, but he’s got no chance as a star if he continues to play jerks this jerky.
Bonus: Consider if your daily workout, like tae kwon do, can also turn you into a “deadly serious killing machine.” Then decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
