Miami isn't all about Chloe bags and designer ballet slippers; some people just want to shake their asses till 7 a.m. and don't care who sees them doing so. But keep in mind that the trendy will take over Miami this week, so unless you plan on hiding out at Churchill's, you're still going to need hair wax, black jeans and a tight T-shirt adorned with fancy paint splatters. Following are 20 of the more-relaxed Winter Music Conference parties, where you can be yourself — or at least yourself with a popped collar. Unless otherwise noted, most events will begin at 10 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

The Fifth

San Francisco-based DJ Miguel Migs will deliver soulful, deep-house licks when he celebrates the release of his new album, Those Things. Old-school funk will collide with new-school electro-dance all night. Julius Papp, DJ Mfr, Joshua Heath and Lisa Shaw also will perform. Tickets cost $20 at Aquabooty.com.

Parkwest Nightclub

Grammy award-winning DJ and mixer Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia, formerly of Deep Dish, will set up shop at Parkwest. Sci + Tec label artists such as Loco Dice, Tiefschwarz, Simi and many others will drop their tech-filled beats on the crowd until 5 a.m. Tickets cost $35 at Wanttickets.com.

The Pawn Shop Lounge

Danny Tenaglia, considered by many to be a DJ's DJ, will host the annual dance party he launched in 2000. He will spin with DJs Antranig and Burchan starting at 10 p.m. Tickets cost $35 at Madeevents.com.

SOBE Live

Hip-hop-friendly U.K. spinsters Bugz in the Attic and Jazzanova will host a blow-out night of booty-shaking that will start at 9 p.m. Roland Appel, IG Culture, Domu and Sound Tzu also will perform. Tickets cost $20 at Wanttickets.com.

Studio A

THURSDAY

Dream Nightclub

The jet-setting Bad Boy Bill plays more than 150 scratch-heavy house shows around the world every year. Bill is known for his fast mixing style and can rotate in a dozen records in the time it takes most DJs to spin three. Kaskade, The Shapeshifters and David Waxman also will perform. Tickets cost $30 at Iwantmycrobar.com.

The Pawn Shop Lounge

London-born Desyn Masiello was named "future DJ hero" by the crème de la crème of DJs in DJ Magazine's Top 100 poll. His brand of house music has been difficult for critics and fans to pigeonhole, but they haven't had a hard time embracing his deep-house mixes. Tickets to this show also grant access to the Kompact vs. RA show featuring Brazilian DJ Gui Boratto in the next room. Tickets cost $25 at Madeevent.com.

SOBE Live

Dennis Ferrer will deliver the goods with his soulful, minimalist techno, which is so stripped down nothing remains but a driving beat. The Martinez Brothers, Abicah Soul and Karisma will back him up on the tables. Tickets cost $20 at Aquabooty.com.

Studio A

Depending on your perspective, this show will begin late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Kicking off at 5 a.m., after all the amateur drunks have hit the sheets, Claude VonStroke will play his trip-heavy electro-tech house until the Red Bull and vodkas wear off. Tickets cost $10 at Wantickets.com.

Surfcomber Hotel

Richie Hawtin, Dubfire and a few other DJs will host the official WMC kickoff pool party, so grab your trunks or banana hammock — this is Miami, after all. The Canadian-born Hawtin goes to extreme lengths to put the tech back in techno with his bleep and bloop-heavy beats. Tickets cost $35 at Clubspace.com.

The Vagabond

Little Louie Vega, who has been called the Miles Davis of dance music, will bring his conga drums to The Vagabond. DJ Neil Pierce, soulful house duo Kevin Hedge and Josh Milan and house head Frankie Feliciano also will spin. 10 p.m.-5 a.m. Tickets cost $20 at Wantickets.com.

FRIDAY

Gem

The name of this event, Miami Gets Deep, is an understatement. Marques Wyatt, Mark Farina, Danny Krivit and the other performing DJs are among some of the most-forward players in the global deep-house scene. Tickets cost $20 at Deep-la.com.

The Pawn Shop Lounge

Gabriel and Dresden first met at the 2001 Winter Music Conference, so it's no surprise that they'd keep returning to the event to put on some of the best DJ sets Miami sees all year. The duo has won five WMC awards and is nominated for four more this year, including Best Global and Best American DJs. Tickets cost $25 at Madeevent.com.

Studio A

He specializes in tech-savvy, robot-inspired, futuristic beats layered with phaser fire and bleepy goodness. Tonight, he will share a bill with Nic Fanciulli, a reverb-heavy techno king who is his partner in the DJ tag team One+One. Tickets cost $20 at Embracemiami.com.

Suite

While the other clubs and restaurants in Miami have gussied themselves up and brought out their best silver for visiting audiophiles, Suite is still Suite. Boston-based X-mix Productions has gathered a gaggle of big-name techno and house DJs for this event, including Armand Van Helden, Bad Boy Bill, Felix da Housecat and Harry "Choo Choo" Romero. Tickets cost $30 at Wantickets.com.

Surfcomber Hotel

Music-podcast king Pete Tong handcrafted the soundtrack to the movie 24 Hour Party People. So do you need another reason needed to see him spin at a late-night pool party? Tong will perform alongside Annie Mac during this BBC-sponsored bash. Tickets cost $30 at Wanttickets.com.

The Vagabond

Trip-hop act Groove Armada, whose "I See You Baby" and "Easy" have appeared on Billboard's Hot Dance Club chart, will perform with '90s big-beat innovators The Crystal Method. These guys put the flavor in raver, so dust off your glow sticks and candy necklaces.
