Miami's own Otto Von Schirach is set to conquer the world

Otto Von Schirach began making music 15 years a go for some age-old reasons: sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Sounding like the narrator of VH1's "Behind the Music," Schirach explains, "I started out DJ'ing to just score girls in school."
Now, the 30-year-old musician is waiting in Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to board a plane to Vienna, Austria, where he will perform with electro-punk artist Peaches in front of a crowd of roughly 15,000 people. Vienna will be the first stop on a tour of European music festivals that, for Schirach, are becoming a regular occurrence. His trip will end in Dour, Belgium, where he will play to 144,000 concertgoers.
While his career began for clichéd reasons, Schirach creates music that is anything but typical.
Drawing a line between the underground and the mainstream can be difficult and depends on an individual's knowledge of the scene. Some people would consider the electronic acts Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Aphex Twin members of the underground, while someone who fancies Schirach would probably place those artists squarely in the mainstream. They might even refer to them as normal.
