Langerado Music Festival March 6-9 at the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation
South Florida's little music festival that could stepped up to the big leagues this year with a festival headlined by R.E.M., the Beastie Boys and Phil Lesh. The four-day fest turned into an almost-nonstop party, and from what I remember, it was a good one. The highlight of the show was either Arrested Development, the Beastie Boys, my sing-along rendition of the Traveling Wilburys' "End of the Line" around a campfire at about 2 a.m. on the second night, or the late Jerry Garcia's sudden appearance at about 3 a.m. on the third night, though that last one may have been a hallucination. At any rate, City Link Metromix.com named this Best Festival in our recent Best Of issue, and we proudly stand by our pick. (Dan Sweeney)
