I'm a big fan of BBQ and I've eaten at Jax House of Ribs many times. Dollar for dollar it's pretty hard to beat. If you can avoid going to this place on Thursday or Friday at lunch, you would be doing yourself a big favor; the parking lot is always jammed from 12-1:30. All those people can't be wrong. After reading the comments posted, I feel quite certain that these people are talking about Jacks BBQ on Oakland Park. People get these two places mixed up. I have always found Jax to be reasonably clean (bbq places are by nature a bit messy with all the sauce). As far as food and value, Jax is pretty good with all you can eat dinners for under $15 and full racks of baby backs for even less.

I usually order all you can eat sliced pork. The sweet bbq sauce on the table is excellant. I usually get fries & cole slaw, garlic toast. The price is right, the food is usually good, service is okay. I eat in the restaurant never ordered to go or been thru the drive thru. One time I got sick from the slaw. It tasted sour but I ate it anyway & payed for it later in the bath room. Other than the one bad experience from the slaw, I enjoy the place. I'll try the ribs on my next visit.

This has got to be the most disgusting restaurant I have ever been to --- and being a restaurant reviewer for major newspapers, I have been in quite a few. The table I sat at was sticky, even after the waitress wiped it down for a second time for me. I then washed it myself with paper napkins that came back BLACK with grime. A knife peeled up black crud when I slid it across the table top. The floors were covered in crud, the bathroom had not been washed down in ages. There was soil and dirt stuck to the walls, one toilette had crap all over the front, and in the large stall were three spots where someone had SPAT green mucus with blood in it! The kitchen, seen through the pass through, had clumps of dust bunnies and dirt along the walls. While the food was pretty good, the rest of the experience was so disturbing that I am reporting these people to the health department. Think TWICE before dining here!

JAX ribs are easily the best around.....big, meaty, tender and delicous....and you don't need a pressure cleaner after eating...
