Great local hangout

No frills seafood. Excellent, cheap, fun, easy. The oysters are the cheapest around, key lime pie is the best, and chicken wings are some of the best in town. You will love it!

A great place to chill out after work, get some beer and oysters, and not break the bank. Let the tourists go to that "other" sea-themed restaurant across the street -- locals, if you want good food, nice people, and decent prices, Southport is home away from home.

This is one of my regular visitors-from-up-north's must-go places. They all want the wings and Old Bay Shrimp out on the deck overlooking the water. Ok. Atmosphere the place has and the raw bar offerings are good. The fish and chips is a disappointment though. I could swear the fish is a frozen ready-battered product. For shame if it is and if it isn't. And what do you say about a seafood-oriented restaurant that only has tartar sauce in a foil pack? MIX IT YOURSELF! That pc is a travesty.

I have been going to the Southport since 1977. Since I moved to NH 23 years ago I visit every time I am in Ft. Lauderdale. I recently took some friends(for thier first time) after our 11:00pm flight for happy hour and they loved it.
My kids have grown up going there and now my grandkids are going. The food and value is great.

I've been eating here since 1975. Great place. The baked clams, old bay spiced steamed shrimp, and fresh grilled dolphin are the best. There BBQ pork sandwiches are also exceptional. Great to eat inside or outside on the deck. If you own a boat this is a great place to come to also. Plenty of dock space and keep an eye on your boat while you eat. ENJOY!! And remember there motto "Eat fish...live longer, Eat clams...last longer, Eat oysters...love longer". Something like that!! Enjoy!!!

A fun waterfront dive, but someone needs to take a firehose to the inside it and wash away the grease and grime. Menu consists of bar food- nothing extroardinary.

I like this place, the only bad thing was I ordered raw oysters and about four hours later I was sick as a dog. But that can happen anywhere, it's alway hit or miss with raw seafood. I will never order oysters again anywhere!
