I’ve tasted plenty of South Florida burgers from late-night munching at Cheeseburger Baby on South Beach to a beefy indulgence with the works over at Flanagan’s. However this challenge pits two celebrity chef restos against each other for the title of best all-beef burger. In one corner is Bourbon Steak at the Fairmont Resort in Aventura, where Chef Michael Mina’s latest incarnation of its “Bar Burger Menu” offers fine dining with down to earth flair. In the other corner is Govind Armstrong’s 8 Oz., one of the most recent burger joints to open in Miami Beach. Armstrong, well known for his fine dining establishment Table 8 on Ocean Drive, offers 8 Oz. a casual alternative.  The Alton Road spot is just altogether down to earth. Differences aside, we’re going in for the best bite.
