Drag dining takes center stage

An inside look at Oakland Park’s newest hot spot

Befitting the larger-than-life, crystal-encrusted stilettos dangling over the dance floor, Lips is a dining and drag wonderland.

“It’s absolutely gorgeous, fabulous, over-the-top, spectacular!” described founder and co-owner Yvonne Lamé, a vision in her sparkling turquoise sheath. To date, she has three locations firing out the glam and a fourth, in New Orleans, on the way. Lips Oakland Park took one year and three months to open. “This location is definitely the crown jewel of all the Lips restaurants,” she said.
