Have a glass of wine with that value meal

Wine experts have a tendency to overlook fast food when pairing reds and whites with a meal. They're all about choosing a wine to go with veal Marsala with shaved Parmesan or roast duck or filet mignon. But what do you drink on the nights when you just don't have time to cook or you're cashing in on an all-day craving for a McDonald's Big Mac? When a Wendy's Crispy Chicken Sandwich has your name written all over it but your tongue is pining for Napa Valley's best accompaniment, how do you proceed? Sure, it takes grapes a season to grow and a wine seasons to age—not to mention the intense labor and patience that goes into cultivating the soil. But does all that matter when you're eating food that was whipped up in five minutes? Metromix has attempted to address this wine–pairing oversight by consulting local sommeliers.
