Coral Gables eatery gets to the root of goodness

With the onslaught of eateries claiming to go where no other resto has gone before, it’s refreshing to finally find one that actually does so. Yes, we mean Mamajuana Café, the brand new Gables branch of New York’s now fabled Inwood food spot.
Named for the seven–herbed, Dominican sacred–root wonder drink, which reportedly cures everything from heartbreak to the common cold, Mamajuana seems determined to break the mold when it comes to meal time.
