The tapas craze has taken over South Florida, and for the eater on the go and in the know, this Spanish-rooted tradition has quite possibly become the alternative to the three-course dining scene. Pacific Time chef and owner, Jonathan Eismann, understands what today’s eater wants, and why this trend has flourished.
“The small plate menu allows you to have many flavors in one dining experience,” said Eismann, who chose to not use the Latin word tapas for his menu, which fuses Asian, Mediterranean and contemporary American dishes. “I wanted to de-formalize the idea of having a tasting menu,” he said.
The small plates at Pacific Time are about half the size of an entrée. The restaurant also offers the big shebang, which includes 19 dishes off of the small plate menu, and is an ideal way to feed large parties.
