Pannetone: Gran Forno Bakery

There’s boxed pannetone and then there’s Gran Forno’s. With a recipe straight out of Milan, chestnuts and all, you can find bona fide Italian pannetone. The bakery sells the tall cake in a wrapped box for the holidays, but if you ask, the staff will take one out and cut you a slice topped with powdered sugar. Buon Natale!
