Moustachioed owner-chef Jorge Luis Fernandez lives up to his nickname as "Dalí of the Kitchen" by seducing diners with his old-world decor, an authentic menu of Spanish tapas and paellas, and his personality, often making the rounds in the dining room to make sure customers leave happy. The selection of tapas is extensive, with the mushrooms in garlic and Fernandez's combination platter among the best bets. The paellas can be ordered for two people, or for a large dinner party, and there are few places in South Florida better suited for communal gatherings than La Barraca, especially during the flamenco shows staged each Thursday through Saturday.
