    The Playwright

    The Playwright - 0

1265 Washington Ave. - Miami Beach (South Beach)

Playwright rocks because there is very rarely creepers in there, let's keep it that way! The food is great and so is the happy hour. The bartenders are all very nice people and very different from your Miami staff that is pretentious, can't understand or speak English and don't give a damn about how bad your service was. These people care and work hard. This pub feels like a REAL Irish pub - QUALITY beers, sports on the many TV's and projectors, pool table, great music and no attitude.

    SushiSamba dromo

    SushiSamba dromo - 3 1/2

600 Lincoln Road - Miami Beach (South Beach)

A bit pricey if you want to get filled up, but much more casual than you may expect. It may look intimidating if you aren't dressed right, but DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! Come as you are and enjoy the sexy and mod atmosphere. With orange lighting, eccentric decorations, cute wait staff that is friendly and usually a cool DJ playing chill out/down tempo music. It is the perfect place to go if you crave GREAT sushi/Eastern foods with (or without) a South American flair. They have dishes that are both separate to the cultures or a fused combo of both.

    Churchill's Pub - 4 1/2

    5501 N.E. Second Ave. - Miami

Screw pretentious vibes, come to Churchill's. It's the punky club just outside of Miami Beach. I believe they have Jazz on certain nights too, but for me it's all about the punk rock/band weekends. Come as you are dress code. Some come looking like a classic punk rocker, huge mohawk, metal studded vest, leopard print and all, and some come in whatever they have. The point is, it's punk, but don't worry if you hair isn't green and you don't know every Ramone's B-side tune. It's a frame of mind anyways, not a style or certain look - so if your frame of mind likes quality assorted beers, loud rock n roll in a dingy club with a cool outside room and an alternative and cool atmosphere, get your butt here!

    Revolution

    Revolution - 4 1/2

    200 W. Broward Blvd. - Fort Lauderdale

Kind of like a step up from Churchill's. Go here to see bigger bands and better sound. I've seen Less Than Jake, Rancid, Mustard Plug, Badfish and such here. This is kind of where the more established and bigger draw of a crowd punk bands go. The bathrooms are impressively clean for a rock/punky club, good amount bars or vendors to grab a beer from and if you don't want to get sweaty in the pit there is a kind of upstairs balcony/railing that outlines the club, so you can stand there and watch from above. I like to go early and hit up their partner club, America's Backyard. While It is a completely different vibe, it is outside, cheap beers, REALLY assorted crowd and with a sense of humor you may even enjoy yourself - check out the girls that hula hoop on the bar! VJ spins videos of everything from classic rock to current dance.
