Weekend party forecast: Downpour of parties and good times

By Rochelle Oliver

Party playbook
Winter Music Conference is here, which means the International eye is on us, well, Miami really. The best dance and electronica DJs are in our very own backyard, and luckily so are the clubs. Parties will be happening everywhere. Here are just a few of Metromix's favorites.

And for any of you readers who aren't crazed about WMC, don't worry, there are a few spots for you, too.
Karu & Y

Karu & Y

71 NW 14th St, Miami
305-403-7850
Like all things WMC, Karu & Y hosts a weekend-long party. The most banging night starts Friday when a laptop symphony will take place. The lineup is longer than a line at Disney. Then, on Saturday, Victor Calderone hits the beats. The same day that DJ Vibe and Richie Santana take to their musical machines.
Cameo

Cameo

1445 Washington Ave., Miami Beach
305-532-2667
Believe it or not, not everyone is a WMC fan. If dance isn't your thing, then maybe Diddy-styles are. And if so, you're in for a treat because Cameo is bringing out the music mogul on Friday night. The event: Steve Angello, Claude Vonstroke and the Martinez Brothers vs. Diddy.
Frank's Energy Beach

Frank's Energy Beach

901 S. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach
305-467-5091
Here's an alternative to WMC just a bit north of the Miami-Dade line. The Florida Derby is at Gulfstream Park this Saturday and all the entrants at Frank's Energy Beach get in on the high-energy event with a DJ and a tiki bar. The party starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m.

Nocturnal

50 NE 11th St., Miami
Party much? Then you might want to check out this 24-hour, multi-level club on Thursday when the Minus Crew celebrates its 10-year anniversary. Admission is $35.
Best-body contest with cash prize

Best-body contest with cash prize

Get out the short shorts and head to Daisy Dukes on Saturdays for ladies night. Ladies will enjoy $1.50 Miller Lite bottles, and $2 Three Olives Vodka drinks from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. If you're interested, there's also a best-body contest at midnight, which promises a $300 cash prize.

Brunch in the sky

If the view of the Biscayne Bay isn't enough incentive to visit Atrio, located on the 25th floor of the Conrad Miami, then the recently installed brunch might be an even better reason to eat here. The new Sunday Brunch runs from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and includes a buffet with selections of breakfast and lunch entrees, salads, desserts and even a station they call the "hangover corner" with plenty of comfort foods to relax with after a long night of partying on Saturday.

$3 Long Islands

Cloud 9 knows you want to party on Friday, so they don't mess around with their specials. Get $3 Long Island iced teas every Friday, 9 p.m.-4 a.m.
